Introduction

Welcome to CrossLingo ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use text translation, voice translation, camera translation, image translation, Live Translator Pro, analytics and attribution services, and the in-app Feedback feature.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

1. No Account Required

CrossLingo does not require you to register or create a user account.

The App may use an App-generated installation identifier and other service-related identifiers to provide subscription verification, purchase restoration, Feedback, analytics, attribution, security, reporting, and technical support.

2. Translation Content

CrossLingo primarily uses Apple system frameworks and language resources available or downloaded on your device to provide translation features.

We do not operate a translation server that receives your translation content for translation processing. Through our own translation services, we do not collect, sell, or share:

• Text entered into the App for translation;
• Voice recordings or live microphone audio;
• Speech transcripts or translation results;
• Photos or images used for translation.

CrossLingo does not provide a translation history or favorites feature and does not intentionally retain translation results as persistent translation records.

If you voluntarily attach an image or screenshot to a Feedback submission, that file is handled as customer-support content rather than translation content.

3. Subscription and App Functionality Information

To provide Live Translator Pro, verify purchases, confirm subscription status, restore purchases, prevent invalid or duplicate purchases, and diagnose subscription issues, we may process:

• App-generated CUID, App instance identifier, or Identifier for Vendor (IDFV);
• Device model, iOS version, CrossLingo version, language, region, and time zone;
• Selected subscription product, SKU, displayed price, and currency;
• Purchase-order identifiers, Apple transaction identifiers, original transaction identifiers, subscription status, and expiration time;
• Purchase, restoration, cancellation, and failure status;
• Request time, response status, error information, App environment, and subscription-page variant where applicable.

We use this information to provide subscription functionality, unlock paid features, restore purchases, prevent fraud, diagnose technical problems, and provide customer support.

Apple processes your payment information. We do not receive your full payment-card details and do not sell subscription information.

4. Communication and Feedback Data

Version 1.4 includes an optional Feedback feature. You may open Settings and tap Feedback to submit a question, report a problem, or share a suggestion with the developer team.

Feedback History allows you to view previously submitted Feedback and replies from the developer team. Feedback History does not contain translation results or translation history.

When you submit Feedback, we may collect and process:

• Feedback text, issue type, and other information you choose to provide;
• Optional contact information, such as an email address;
• Up to three optional screenshots or images you choose to attach;
• CUID, CrossLingo version, device model, iOS version, language, region, and relevant technical information;
• Feedback submission time and processing status;
• Developer reply text, reply time, reply status, and any reply attachment;
• Whether a developer reply has been viewed;
• Read or unread status used to display red-dot notifications on the Feedback and History entries.

We use this information to receive and organize Feedback, investigate and reproduce reported issues, reply to users, prevent abuse, improve CrossLingo, display Feedback History, and indicate when a developer reply has not yet been viewed.

5. Apple System Services and Permissions

CrossLingo uses Apple-provided frameworks and system permissions to provide its core features.

• Microphone: Used to capture speech for voice translation.
• Speech Recognition: Used to convert spoken words into text through Apple's Speech framework.
• Camera: Used to capture images of text for camera translation.
• Photo Selection: Used when you select an image through the system photo picker for translation or as a Feedback attachment.
• Translation and Text Recognition: Apple Translation and Vision frameworks may be used to translate text and recognize text in images.
• In-App Purchases: StoreKit is used to present Apple's purchase sheet, process subscriptions, restore purchases, and provide transaction information for verification.
• App Tracking Transparency: Requested where required before IDFA is accessed for attribution or advertising measurement.

Depending on your device, iOS version, selected language, and system settings, certain Apple functions may operate on your device or through Apple-operated services.

We do not use content processed through Apple system frameworks for purposes unrelated to providing the functionality requested by you.

6. Attribution, Analytics, and Market Reporting

CrossLingo may use AppsFlyer, the Meta/Facebook SDK, and our own reporting endpoint to understand install sources, advertising performance, App opens, onboarding completion, subscription-page views, product selection, checkout activity, restoration results, purchase results, and similar App interactions.

Information processed for these purposes may include:

• CUID and App instance identifiers;
• AppsFlyer ID and Facebook anonymous ID;
• IDFV;
• IDFA where tracking authorization has been granted;
• Device and App information;
• App interaction and subscription-funnel events;
• Product ID, displayed price, currency, and paywall variant;
• Purchase or transaction metadata where applicable.

We do not intentionally send typed translation text, voice recordings, speech transcripts, translation results, or photos used for translation to these analytics and attribution services.

7. How We Use Information

We may use information described in this Privacy Policy to:

• Provide and maintain CrossLingo;
• Verify subscriptions and unlock Live Translator Pro;
• Restore purchases and confirm subscription status;
• Receive, investigate, and reply to Feedback;
• Display Feedback History and unread-reply red dots;
• Analyze App usage and subscription performance;
• Improve functionality, reliability, and user experience;
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

8. Sharing and Third-Party Service Providers

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Information may be processed or shared in the following limited circumstances:

• Apple services: To provide system functionality, subscriptions, purchase restoration, billing, cancellation, and refunds.
• Service providers: With providers supporting Feedback, subscription verification, analytics, attribution, reporting, hosting, security, and technical operations.
• Legal requirements: Where disclosure is required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid request from a competent authority.
• Protection and security: Where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of applicable terms.

We require third-party service providers that process information on our behalf to protect that information at the same or an equivalent level to the protection described in this Privacy Policy and required by applicable data-protection obligations.

Third-party services may also process information under their own privacy policies and service terms.

9. Local Storage

CrossLingo may store limited settings and App state locally on your device, including:

• Onboarding status;
• Selected languages;
• Downloaded language-resource information;
• Subscription catalog or membership cache;
• Free-usage count;
• Feedback History cache;
• Developer-reply read or unread status;
• Information used to display Feedback red-dot notifications.

CrossLingo does not store translation results in a translation history or favorites list.

Deleting CrossLingo normally removes its local App container, subject to standard iOS behavior.

Deleting the App does not necessarily remove information previously transmitted to subscription, analytics, attribution, reporting, or Feedback services.

10. Data Retention and Feedback Records

Subscription and purchase-verification records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide subscriptions, restore purchases, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and support users.

Feedback text, optional contact information, attached images, developer replies, submission status, and read or unread status may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate and respond to support requests, maintain Feedback History, diagnose recurring problems, improve the App, and prevent abuse.

CrossLingo does not currently provide an in-app self-service feature for deleting individual Feedback records, attached images, or developer replies.

You may contact us with questions about information associated with a Feedback submission or to submit a privacy-related request. We will review and respond to the request in accordance with applicable law, security requirements, technical capabilities, and applicable record-retention obligations.

We may need sufficient information to locate the relevant record and confirm that the request relates to you.

11. Your Choices

You may:

• Choose not to submit Feedback;
• Choose not to provide optional contact information;
• Choose not to attach images to Feedback;
• Manage App permissions through iOS Settings;
• Manage tracking authorization through iOS privacy settings;
• Remove locally stored App data by deleting CrossLingo, subject to normal iOS behavior;
• Contact us with an applicable privacy-related request.

12. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, disclosure, or loss.

However, no electronic storage system or network transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

13. Children's Privacy

CrossLingo is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Feedback submissions should not contain personal information concerning children.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to CrossLingo, our information-handling practices, or applicable requirements.

The Last Updated date at the top of this page will be revised when this Privacy Policy changes.
